OCA inter-district school cricket tournament: Bhadrak, Balasore register easy wins

Cuttack: The day two of the second phase of the OCA Inter District School Cricket Tournament 2025–26, with the preliminary league matches featuring teams from Group E and Group F on Monday saw several one-sided matches across venues in Odisha.

At the Gatirout Patna Ground, Bhubaneswar-B registered a comfortable six-wicket win over Sonepur. Batting first after winning the toss, Sonepur were bowled out for 113 in 40.3 overs, with Bhabatosh Biswal top-scoring with 40. Satamanyu Mangaraj led the bowling effort with figures of 3 for 17, while Om Prakash Mohanty also picked up three wickets. In reply, Bhubaneswar-B chased down the target in just 18.5 overs, riding on Anshuman Das’ brisk 45 off 34 balls, to seal the match with ease.

In another Group match at Mula Padia Ground, Bhadrak produced a dominant all-round performance to thrash Jagatsinghpur by 186 runs. Bhadrak piled up a massive 289 for 7 in 49 overs, anchored by a fine unbeaten century from Adarsh K. Bhal (102 off 115 balls). Jagatsinghpur struggled in the chase and were bundled out for 103 in 31.2 overs, despite Rihan Samal’s unbeaten half-century.

At the Driems Cricket Ground, Balasore secured a convincing 163-run victory over Koraput. Balasore posted 241 all out in 48 overs, with Omkar Tripathy (58) and Roop R. Behera (49) laying a solid foundation. Koraput were then skittled for 78 in 24.5 overs, as Lohit Senapati returned impressive figures of 3 for 16.

Meanwhile, at Ravenshaw-I Ground, Keonjhar chased down a modest target to defeat Kalahandi by six wickets. Kalahandi were dismissed for 125 in 38 overs, with Jaskaran Singh scoring a fighting 64 not out. Keonjhar reached 126 for 4 in 33.5 overs, with Adidev Sahoo starring earlier with the ball, claiming 3 for 33.

A strong bowling performance helped Sambalpur-B overpower Rayagada by 121 runs at Ravenshaw-II Ground. Sambalpur-B posted 237 all out in 45.1 overs, with Devesh Bagh scoring a half-century. Rayagada were then bowled out for 116 in 26.4 overs, as Yashraj Mahana’s outstanding spell of 6 for 28 dismantled the batting lineup.

In the final match of the day at the BJB School Ground, Khordha, Angul cruised to a nine-wicket win over Balangir. Balangir were restricted to 104 in 35.2 overs, with Omm Sri S. Sahoo and Akhil Pradhan taking three wickets each. Angul completed the chase in just 14.2 overs, losing only one wicket, with Omm Sri S. Sahoo scoring an unbeaten 47 to cap a fine all-round performance.
