New Delhi: CNG prices in Delhi-NCR have been increased by Rs 3.89 per kg, with the new rates coming into effect from 6 am on Saturday. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the main city gas distributor in the National Capital Region, announced the CNG price hike, which will affect motorists and commercial vehicle operators across Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram.
Following the increase, CNG price in Delhi has gone up from Rs 83.09 per kg to Rs 86.98 per kg. In Noida and Ghaziabad, CNG will now cost Rs 95.59 per kg, while the revised price in Gurugram is Rs 92.01 per kg.
CNG price hike to increase fuel costs
The latest increase is expected to put more pressure on people and businesses that depend on CNG vehicles. Auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators, app-based cab services and other commercial transport operators will have to spend more on fuel.
Private car owners who use CNG will also see their monthly fuel bills rise following the latest revision.
The increase comes after several CNG price hikes in recent months. In May 2026, IGL had raised the price of CNG in Delhi by Rs 2 per kg. This came just days after another Rs 1 per kg increase announced from May 26.
IGL cites high LNG prices
IGL said international liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices remain “significantly high”, adding that the impact of higher input costs is being felt quickly.
The company said the Rs 3.89 per kg increase was necessary to partly offset the rise in input gas costs while ensuring a continued and reliable supply of CNG to consumers.
Transport operators feel the pressure
The repeated increase in CNG prices has raised concerns among transport operators, particularly in major cities where CNG-powered vehicles are widely used for public and commercial transport.
With fuel costs already a major expense for these operators, the latest hike could further increase their operating costs and put additional pressure on fares and earnings.
