Noida: A woman was arrested on Thursday after a video of her abusing and threatening security guards at a housing society in Greater Noida West went viral, police said.
What the video shows
The incident happened on the night of August 26 at Centurion Park Terrace Homes Society, which falls under the Bisrakh police station area. According to police, the woman got into an argument with the guards after they stopped a food delivery agent at the gate. She had ordered food online, and the guard’s attempt to verify the delivery person apparently set off the confrontation.
In the video, which surfaced on Wednesday, she can be seen pacing back and forth, at times stepping threateningly close to the guards. Over the course of the roughly three-and-a-half-minute clip, she hurls abuses and threats at them, including one where she threatens to kill them, saying they are “nothing” in front of her.
Casteist remarks add to the outrage
The video also shows her using casteist slurs against the guards, along with more threats, including one where she vows to physically harm one of the guards if he goes near a specific flat in the building again.
Following the viral spread of the video, the Bisrakh police confirmed the woman’s arrest through a statement on social media. She is a resident of the same housing society where the incident took place.
