Bengaluru: Two officials from the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation have been arrested for allegedly taking a bribe.
On Thursday, the Karnataka Lokayukta police caught the two officials while they were accepting Rs 3 lakh from a person for clearing pending ‘Khata’ work related to a property.
According to officials, the complainant had reported that the officers were asking for money to process the documents.
Acting on the complaint, the Lokayukta police set up a trap. During the operation, one of the officials was caught taking the cash, and both were immediately taken into custody.
A case has been registered against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The police said further investigation is currently underway.
