Bhubaneswar: Manoj Kumar Parida, former chief secretary in the Government of Puducherry, stressed the importance of continuous learning for students to thrive in a competitive world. Speaking at the inaugural programme of ‘Convergence-2024’, the two-day annual B-School Meet and cultural extravaganza at the Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), part of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) faculty of management sciences, Parida urged students to maintain enthusiasm, passion, and a dream for greatness.

Parida, who inaugurated the event, shared insightful anecdotes from his experiences, advising students to embrace change and stay prepared. Dr Samir Kumar Samantaray, deputy general manager of NABARD, Bhubaneswar, echoed the sentiment, emphasising the importance of hard work, smart action and ethical conduct.

Prof Anup Kumar Samantaray, dean of IBCS, and Prof Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare), along with faculty, staff members, and students, attended the event. Prof Samantaray highlighted the significance of life skills for personal and professional success, drawing from his own experiences, while Prof Das motivated the audience to strive for greater heights.

The event’s coordinators, Prof Sasmita Mohanty and Dr Ashish Mohanty, extended a warm welcome to the guests and concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.
