Ahead of the India-South Africa Twenty20 International on June 12 at Barabati Stadium, Anil Kumar Samal RDC Central Division, Cuttack called a preparatory committee meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting was also attended by Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chaini, DCP Cuttack Pinak Mishra, Pankaj Lochan Mohanty (president, OCA), Sanjay Behera (secretary, OCA), Avijit Paul (secretary, OOA) along with other government officials.

During the discussion, Behera (secretary, OCA) briefed the house regarding the preparedness for the upcoming event in details and also informed that both the teams will arrive on June 10.

The DCP Cuttack assured that they will provide adequate security arrangements for the expected crowd at the stadium. A mock drill has been planned on Thursday for the safe evacuation of the spectators in case of any emergency. Also for the safe road transit, a mock drill is planned on June 8 in association with Odisha Traffic Department.

After the conclusion of the match and for the smooth dispersal of spectators, Regional Transport Department will deploy eight shuttle buses to smoothen the transit towards railways station and bus depots.

All roads leading to Barabati Stadium will be repaired by the R&B Division and cleaned by CMC, Cuttack. The beautification work will also be taken care by the CMC.

The PHD department will provide safe and hygienic drinking water supply for the public during the purchase of tickets and on the match day outside the stadium.

The CDMO, Cuttack will provide six well-equipped ambulances and medical team for any medical emergency.

Behera said necessary arrangements for the fire safety will be done and he also added each spectators’ safety is of paramount importance. He also shared that the public address system will be in place for proper guidance to the fans.
