*Bhubaneswar region under BMC has reported 157 new Covid positive cases, with 242 recoveries. While Cuttack city area under CMC registered 33 Covid positive cases, with 48 recoveries.

Slots for vaccination in Puri for tomorrow will open tonight at 9 PM.

*Odisha’s Kabir Hans won the doubles title at the AITA 1 lakh Men’s Tournament in Bangalore. He also reached the singles semifinals before losing to Olympian J. Vishnuvardhan.

*Odisha on Saturday reported 478 new Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 10,27,431, a health department official said.

*Of the 478 new cases, 281 were from quarantine centres while the remaining 197 were local contacts.

*Khurda district once again reported the highest number of daily cases at 211 followed by Cuttack (57). Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Rayagada districts did not report any new cases in the last 24 hours.

*The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) in the state stands at 0.69 per cent.

The state on Saturday recorded seven deaths due to Covid-19.

*Odisha on Friday reported 477 new Covid-19 cases, taking the state’s caseload to 10,26,953. Four deaths pushed the coronavirus death toll to 8,202.

*The state government on Thursday prohibited the sale and use of firecrackers during the festive season. “With a view to protecting the health of the general public and to curb the spread of infection, sale and use of firecrackers shall remain prohibited during this festive month,” read the state government order.

*Night curfew restrictions in urban areas will continue from 10 pm to 5 am. Special night curfew restrictions have been clamped on Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in view of Durga Puja and other festivals. The night curfew restrictions in the twin cities will be applied from 8 pm to 5 am (instead of 10 pm to 5 am) from October 11 to October 20.

*The Odisha government on Thursday had announced new Covid-19 guidelines which will be in force in the state for the month of October.
