Bhubaneswar: Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the faculty of engineering and technology of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), has been ranked among the top five engineering colleges in the country in the Times Engineering Survey for 2022 published on Tuesday.
In the ranking conducted nationally involving 170 institutes, ITER has been placed in the fifth place while it has been ranked second in the list of top 125 privately-run engineering institutes in the country and number one in the eastern region.
ITER has also been ranked fifth in the list of top 30 institutes having research capability while in the placement stakes, the institute was placed tenth in a list of top 70 private institutes.
The Times All India Engineering Institutes Ranking Survey for 2022 was conducted by the Times of India. The survey had three major modules—Desk Research, Perceptual and Factual Survey — for analysis and to arrive at the final ranking.
The key parameters taken into consideration to arrive at the rating included infrastructure, faculty, course curriculum, industry interaction, pedagogy, research orientation and focus, global exposure, placement and overall brand value.
ITER, which was launched in the 1996-97 academic year, is known today for its quality teaching, stress on research and focus on job creation and skill development. ITER’s engineering programmes have been accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) of USA, a prestigious accrediting body in the world for technical education.
