The IPL 2026 schedule is finally out promising another exciting season of the Indian Premier League. As per the IPL schedule 2026, the tournament will begin on March 28, with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening match.

The IPL 2026 full schedule was released in two parts by the Board of Control for Cricket in India due to assembly elections. The first set of matches was announced on March 11, covering the opening 20 games, while the rest of the IPL schedule was revealed on March 26. Details about the playoff venues will be shared later.

The IPL continues to be one of the biggest and most popular T20 leagues in the world. A total of 10 teams will compete this season, including Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

After the opening clash, Mumbai Indians will start their campaign at home against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29. On March 30, Chennai Super Kings will take on Rajasthan Royals in an away game. This match will be interesting as Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson will be facing their former teams after a pre-season swap.

The league stage of the IPL 2026 schedule will run until May 24. After that, the top two teams will play Qualifier 1, and the winner will go straight to the final. The teams finishing third and fourth will play the Eliminator, and the winner of that match will face the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 to decide the second finalist.

There is also a change in the format this season. In previous editions, teams played twice against sides in their own group and once against teams from the other group. In the IPL schedule 2026, this has been reversed. Teams will now play once within their group and twice against teams from the other group.

Matches in the IPL 2026 full schedule will be played across several venues in India, including Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Mullanpur, Jaipur and Dharamsala.
