State-level workshop on ‘MUKTA’ initiative held

Bhubaneswar: A one-day state-level workshop on “MUKTA goal-setting” was held on Wednesday by H&UD department.

In his opening address the principal secretary of the department Mathi Vathanan highlighted that the state government has been actively working towards improving urban capacities and resources through various means such as strengthening scheme implementation, process re-engineering, and developing robust progress monitoring mechanisms.

One of the key areas of reform aims to optimise and strengthen the capacities and capabilities of the ‘people’, including all the government functionaries and community partners who form the core of the Housing and Urban Development department, he said.

He added that the MUKTA scheme is one of the the flagship programme of the state government which is adopting the reforms being taken up under the organisation development strand.

The prioritisation of MUKTA’s goals and how each stakeholder can contribute to their success was discussed vividly in the workshop.

Among others Sangramjit Nayak, director Municipal Administration, Sagarika Patnaik, special secretary, Durgesh Nandini Sahoo, additional secretary, Sarada Prasad Panda, joint secretary and state nodal officer MUKTA, Sanjay Pramanik, OSD-Spl secretary and other departmental Officers attended the workshop and shared the critical aspects that need to be taken care of for effective goal setting.

The municipal commissioner, deputy commissioner, executive officers, municipal engineers, and MUKTA professionals also participated in the workshop.
