New Delhi: A 21-year-old man was found dead near a shrine in northeast Delhiās Welcome area, and police have arrested two people while also detaining a minor in connection with the case.
The incident came to light on April 10 around 6:45 pm, when police received information about a body lying near a mazar in Jheel Park. A team quickly reached the spot and recovered the body, which was later identified as Mohammad Shamim.
A forensic team examined the area and collected evidence, after which the body was sent to GTB Hospital for a post-mortem. Police registered a murder case and began their investigation.
During the probe, officers gathered local information and pieced together what had happened. Based on their findings, they arrested two suspects, Wasim alias Miya (20) and Tilak Raj alias Raj (23), both from the same area. A 17-year-old was also taken into custody.
According to police, the accused admitted to the crime during questioning. They said they had a personal grudge against Shamim, claiming he used to bully them. In anger, the three attacked him and fled the scene.
Police are now trying to recover the weapon used in the crime, and further investigation is ongoing.
