J&K crush Odisha by eight wickets in U23 State A Trophy clash
Vadodara: Jammu and Kashmir registered a commanding eight-wicket win over Odisha in their Men’s U23 State A Trophy (One-Day format) match at the Darshanam Sports and Education Academy, here on Tuesday.
Winning the toss, J&K elected to field first and their bowlers made full use of the conditions, bundling out Odisha for just 104 runs in 26.1 overs. Basit Bashir led the bowling attack with a superb spell, claiming 4 wickets for 29 runs in 9 overs, while Atif Bin Mushtaq provided solid support with 3 for 26 from 7 overs.
For Odisha, Om T Munde top-scored with 32 off 47 balls, hitting two boundaries and a six, while Shreyansh Bhardwaj contributed 17 off 33. However, the rest of the batting line-up failed to offer resistance against the disciplined J&K bowling unit.
In reply, J&K chased down the target comfortably, reaching 109 for 2 in 21.2 overs. Opener Basit Nazir played a match-winning innings, smashing an unbeaten 74 off 63 balls with seven fours and three sixes, while Shivansh Sharma supported him with 30 not out off 61 balls.
For Odisha, Soumya Ranjan Lenka picked up both wickets, finishing with 2 for 21 from his 5 overs.
