Women’s U19 T20 Trophy: Vidarbha, Rajasthan, Saurashtra record wins; Baroda-Chandigarh match washed out
Bhubaneswar/Raipur/Cuttack: Vidarbha, Rajasthan and Saurashtra registered victories in their respective encounters, while the Baroda-Chandigarh clash ended with no result in the Women’s Under-19 T20 Trophy 2025-26 matches.
At Ravenshaw University Ground, Cuttack, Vidarbha chased down Haryana’s 97/8 in 17.4 overs to win by 7 wickets. Arya Abhay Pongde (34) and Grishma Tatte (26) led the run chase, while Mansi Borikar starred with the ball earlier, taking 3 for 19. For Haryana, Ishana Gadha top-scored with 20, while Gaurika Yadav and Nimisha K picked a wicket each.
In Bhubaneswar, the Baroda vs Chandigarh fixture at Railway Stadium was abandoned due to weather conditions after Baroda reached 8/3 in 3.4 overs, chasing Chandigarh’s 97/8. Taisha Manchanda (25) and Aahan Vaid (16) were the top scorers for Chandigarh, while Maitri Maniar and Krina Dobariya took two wickets each for Baroda.
At RDCA Ground, Raipur, Saurashtra pulled off a narrow two-wicket win over Odisha. Chasing 89, Saurashtra reached 89/8 in 18.3 overs after Jadeja Harshitaba (16) and Shradha Motivaras (10*) held their nerve. Earlier, Odisha posted 88/7, with Sreya Priyadarshini scoring 25 not out, while Bijaya L Behera claimed 3 for 18 for Odisha.
In another match at Railway Stadium, Bhubaneswar, Rajasthan defeated Jammu & Kashmir by 63 runs. Powered by Tanika Sharma’s 60 and Prateeksha Singh’s 44, Rajasthan posted 152/6 in 20 overs. In reply, J&K managed 89/8, with Kainyat Bakshi scoring 35. Manya Banotra took 3 wickets for 24 for J&K, but Rajasthan’s bowlers, led by Minakshi (2/13) and AN Choudhary (1/11), sealed a comfortable win.
