Slagged by Indian fans few days ago, I’ve shut them up: Brook
Coming into the IPL, Harry Brook had the halo of great talent around him but with poor returns from three outings, there were doubts.
With success in Tests and T20Is, there were lot of expectations from the 24-year-old, especially the Sunrisers Hyderabad fans. After his three failures, he faced criticism on social media. But by slamming the first century of IPL 2023, an unbeaten hundred off 55 balls at Eden gardens and setting up a 23-run victory for SRH against Kolkata Knight Riders.

“I think I was putting pressure on myself after the first few games. If you go on social media, people are calling you rubbish and you start to slightly doubt yourself a little bit.
“But I just went out there with a ‘I don’t care’ mentality tonight and thankfully came up. There are a lot of Indian fans out there (on social media) who are going to say ‘well done tonight’ but they were slagging me off a few days ago. Glad I could shut them up,” Brook told IPL broadcasters after collecting the Player of the Match award.
