Weatherman says many places in Odisha to receive rain on Diwali
Low pressure over Andaman sea intensified into a depression over east central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood on October 22.
The system is likely to move north westwards and likely to intensify into a deep depression on October 23 and may change its direction of movement to north-northeastwards on October 23 night.
Therafter, it may intensify into a cyclonic storm on October 24 and its movement in north-north eastwards will continue till landfall in Bangladesh coast on October 24th late night or early morning the next day.
Under its influence, light to moderate rain will occur at many locations in the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Cuttack and Bhadrak on October 23.
Moderate to heavy rain may occur at many locations in the districts of Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur from 24th afternoon to 25th afternoon.
As the cyclone will move parallel to Odisha coast with distance more than 150 km from coast, the wind speed won’t be high and it may vary from 60 to 80 kmph over Odisha coast.
