Rajkot: Odisha women pulled off a hard-fought two-wicket win over Baroda in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy 2025–26 (Elite) at Sanosara Cricket Ground ‘A’, here on Monday, thanks to an outstanding all-round performance from Sushree Dibyadarshini.
After winning the toss and opting to field, Odisha produced a disciplined bowling effort to bowl Baroda out for 225 in 49.3 overs. Baroda’s innings was anchored by J Mohite, who scored a steady 50 off 63 balls, hitting six boundaries. Pragya Rawat provided valuable support with a brisk 44 off 35 balls, striking seven fours at an impressive strike rate of 125.71.
Sushree Dibyadarshini led Odisha’s bowling attack brilliantly, finishing with figures of 4 for 36 in her 10 overs, maintaining an excellent economy rate of 3.60. Jyoti K Prasad also made a key contribution, picking up two wickets for 41 runs in 8.3 overs.
In reply, Odisha chased down the target in a tense finish, reaching 229 for 8 in their 50 overs. Sushree Dibyadarshini once again stepped up, this time with the bat, scoring a crucial 78 off 83 deliveries. Her innings included 10 boundaries and helped stabilise Odisha’s chase.
She found support from Madhuri Meheta, who added an important 35 runs off 47 balls, striking five fours.
Baroda’s bowlers tried to keep their team in the contest, with P N Khemnar delivering an impressive spell of 3 for 32 in 10 overs, including two maidens. Shikha Pandey also bowled well, claiming two wickets for 32 runs in her nine overs.
However, Odisha held their nerve in the closing stages to complete the chase and secure a narrow two-wicket victory, with Sushree Dibyadarshini emerging as the standout performer of the match with both bat and ball.
