Oral Hygiene Day being observed at Institute of Dental Sciences.

Bhubaneswar: Talk shows on the importance of maintaining a clean mouth and an academic lecture marked the Oral Hygiene Day observed by the Department of Periodontics at the Institute of Dental Sciences, faculty of dental sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) here on Monday.

Prof. (Dr.) Rashmita Nayak and Prof. (Dr.) Anurag Satpathy participated in the talk shows to explain in detail the need to have a clean mouth.

An academic programme was organised on the occasion which was inaugurated by the Dean Prof. (Dr.) Neeta Mohanty in the presence of the Head of the department of Periodontics Prof. (Dr.) Rinkee Mohanty. It was attended by heads of all departments, senior faculty members, interns and BDS students. Besides, a half day educational programme was conducted where Prof. (Dr.) Abhaya Chandra Das delivered a lecture on the subject ‘Importance of Oral Health’.

A street play on oral hygiene was also organised by BDS students while Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar and Dr. Saurav Panda conducted a quiz on the subject.

The department had made special arrangement for the patients visiting the Out Patient Department where a dedicated team of doctors explained the need for maintaining oral hygiene to the visitors besides presenting them with tooth paste and mouth wash samples along with pamphlets educating on oral cleanliness. The programme would continue for a week.
