OCA U-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025: Sonepur, Sundargarh and Kalahandi record wins

Cuttack: The second phase of the OCA U-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025 witnessed exciting matches across venues, with Sonepur, Sundargarh and Kalahandi among the notable winners on Day 2.

At Bidanasi Ground, Sambalpur-A defeated Nayagarh by 82 runs. Batting first, Sambalpur-A made 183 in 32.3 overs, with Samridh S Bedi scoring 55 and Abinash K Majhi adding 29. For Nayagarh, Omkar S Lenka bowled brilliantly, taking nine wickets for 53 runs. However, Nayagarh managed only 101 in reply, with Reshab Sharma (5/24) and Manbir Singh (4/23) doing the damage.

At Nimpur Ground, KIIT edged past Mayurbhanj by 29 runs. KIIT posted 134, thanks to Himansu B Kar (39) and Sai Sarthak Sahoo (34), while Aditya Dharua (10-3-14-2) and Shreejeet Bhuyan (4/25) helped bowl out Mayurbhanj for 105.

In another match at BJB School Ground, Puri beat Nabarangpur by 37 runs (DLS). MS Swadhin K Pramanik starred with 3 for 23, while Anshuman Mohanty made 49 runs.

At the Railway Ground, Jatni, Sundargarh defeated Bhubaneswar-B by 5 wickets. Neil N Mohanty shone with an all-round show, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs and scoring an unbeaten 36 to guide his team to victory.

At Gatirout Patna, Sonepur overcame Gajapati by 2 wickets in a low-scoring contest. Bhabatosh Biswal was the match-winner with 4 wickets for 16 runs and an unbeaten 28.

At Adashpur Ground, Kandhamal defeated Sambalpur-B by 4 wickets, driven by Ayush Pradhan’s unbeaten 57.

Keonjhar outplayed Khordha by 6 wickets at Town Club, Mula Padia with Shreyas S Jena producing a superb spell of 3 for 8.

At Ravenshaw-II Ground, Kendrapara recorded a 7-wicket win over Rayagada, led by Deepak Baral’s five-wicket haul (8-5-8-5).

In the day’s final fixture at Sunshine Cricket Ground, Kalahandi beat Dhenkanal by 21 runs, thanks to a match-winning 118 from Sourya Agrawal and a five-wicket haul by Shreyanshu Mohanty (5/31).
