Driver held after SUV drags motorcycle for 500 metres, damages multiple vehicles in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: A 38-year-old man has been arrested for alleged drunk and reckless driving after his SUV crashed into a motorcycle, dragged it for nearly 500 metres and went on to hit several other vehicles on the city’s Ring Road, police said on Friday.
The incident took place around 7.15 pm on December 24 near Kamakshipalya, when the biker, identified as Rohit, was riding towards Nagarbhavi Circle. The shocking episode was recorded by bystanders and videos of the incident later surfaced on social media.
Police said the SUV, which was being driven at high speed, rammed into the motorcycle from behind. The force of the collision caused the bike to become lodged under the vehicle. Despite this, the driver did not stop and continued driving for a considerable distance, dragging the motorcycle along the road.
