Rajkot: Karnataka registered a commanding 92-run victory over Odisha in their Senior Women’s One Day Trophy (Elite) encounter at Sarosara Cricket Ground ‘A’, here on Thursday.

After Odisha won the toss and opted to field, Karnataka made full use of the batting-friendly conditions to post a formidable 326 for 7 in 50 overs. In reply, Odisha fought hard but were restricted to 234 for 9 in 50 overs.

Karnataka’s innings was anchored by a superb knock from S Shubha, who scored a steady 90 off 101 balls, striking eight boundaries and a six. She built the platform with patience before accelerating when needed.

Niki Prasad then injected momentum into the innings with an aggressive 79 off just 52 balls. Her knock, which included eight fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 151.92, gave Karnataka the late flourish that propelled them beyond the 300-run mark.

For Odisha, Jyoti K Prasad was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for 64 runs in her eight overs. Rameswari Naik bowled a disciplined spell, returning figures of 1 for 49 from her 10 overs and maintaining an economy rate of 4.9.

Odisha’s chase falls short
