In a four-match Women’s Invitational One-Day series, Odisha have won their first two matches against Chhattisgarh by 14 runs and 92 runs respectively, being played at Centurion University, Khordha.
The state’s senior women’s team is playing these preparatory matches against Chhattisgarh as part of their campaign for the upcoming BCCI tournaments.
In the first match, opting to bat, Chhattisgarh were bundled out for 123 in 47.1 overs, with Sujata Malik, Priyanka Sahoo and Sushree Dibyadarshini picking two wickets each. Odisha chased down the total in 50 overs with Madhuri Meheta scoring 47 and Shubhra Swain 33.
In the second game, Odisha batting first scored 233 for 3 in 50 overs as Sarita Meher slammed 102 and Meheta a 49. In the run-chase Chhattisgarh could only manage to reach 141 for 5 in 50 overs.
The remaining two matches of the series will be played on Oct 11 and Oct 12.
