OCA U-16 inter-district cricket super league: Rest of Odisha teams, Keonjhar and Bhubaneswar-A secure wins on first-innings lead
Cuttack: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) U-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament Super League witnessed intense competition across venues, with four matches decided on first-innings leads. Rest of Odisha-A, Rest of Odisha-B, Keonjhar and Bhubaneswar-A emerged victorious in their respective fixtures.
Rest of Odisha-A beat Cuttack-A by 80-run first-innings lead
At the Sunshine Cricket Ground, Rest of Odisha-A, after opting to bat first, posted 135 runs in 50 overs, powered by Saurabh Yadav (45 off 76) and Barhi Goutam Kumar (21 off 59).
Cuttack-A faltered in reply, folding for 55 runs in 23.2 overs. Kaushik R. Das (5/38) and Satyansh Sharma (5/42) starred with the ball for Cuttack-A, but Dayanidhi Padhan (4/9) and Saurabh Yadav (3/4) helped Rest of Odisha-A gain a decisive first-innings advantage.
Rest of Odisha-A clinched the match by an 80-run lead, with Satyansh Sharma named stand-out performer.
Bhubaneswar-A prevail over Jharsuguda by 65-run first-innings lead
At the Gatirout Patna Ground, Bhubaneswar-A, after electing to bat, scored 140 in 49.3 overs, with Mrutyunjaya Tripathy (45 off 35) and Shreyansh Bidhar (28 off 65) leading the charge. Jharsuguda struggled to 75 all out in 38 overs despite some resistance from Lucky Singh (19) and Sachidanand Mali (17). Slok S. Nayak (5/22) was the pick of the bowlers, guiding Bhubaneswar-A to victory by 65-run first-innings lead. Nayak was adjudged stand-out performer.
Rest of Odisha-B crush Puri on first-innings lead
In the match at Adaspur Ground, Puri, batting first, were bowled out for just 44 runs in 27 overs, with Anshuman Mohanty (15) being the top scorer. Rest of Odisha-B replied strongly with 229 in 74.2 overs, thanks to Aurobinda Muduli (61)and Sideswar Bag (46). Swadhin K. Pramanik impressed for Puri with a seven-wicket haul (7/71). Rest of Odisha-B won comfortably on first-innings lead, while Chandan K. Singh (3/13) was named stand-out performer.
Keonjhar outclass Sundargarh by first-innings lead
At Bidanasi Ground, Sundargarh, after winning the toss, managed 85 runs in 34.2 overs, with Ajay Mahato (30*) and Manabendra Behera (23) showing some fight. Dibyanshu Prusty (6/15) delivered a sensational spell for Keonjhar. In reply, Keonjhar posted 172 in 58.3 overs, powered by Krishnajit Sahoo (57) and Soham K. Jena (36). Keonjhar sealed the match by first-innings lead, with Prusty’s six-wicket haul earning him stand-out performer honours.
