East Coast Railway (ECoR) has started Swachhata Pakhwada in a big way giving special focus on cleanliness at railway station premises, trains, offices, workshops, maintenance depots, railway hospitals and railway residential areas.
General Manager, ECoR Sharad Kumar Srivastava administered oath on swachhata to the employees and officers at Rail Sadan to maintain cleanliness.

Railway employees from the lowest level to apex are being asked to participate in the Swachhata Pakhwada. Different programme like prabhat pheri, seminars and nukkad natak (street play) are being conducted to make aware the common people especially passengers during the fortnight.
ECoR has taken massive awareness programme during the Swachhata Pakhwada by involving passengers, rail users and stake holders.
ECoR employees will initiate the quest for cleanliness starting from their family, locality, village and their work place.
Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Manas Kumar Poddar co-ordinated the oath taking ceremony. All principal heads of the departments, senior officials and staff were present on the occasion.
