Nagothane: Maharashtra delivered a dominant all-round performance to crush Odisha by an innings and 250 runs in their Cooch Behar Trophy (U19) match at the Reliance Cricket Ground, here on Tuesday.

After being asked to bat first, Maharashtra took firm command of the contest with a massive total of 528. Suashik Jagtap anchored the innings with a composed 117 off 206 deliveries, while Jashan Singh added a solid 102 off 187. Their centuries, supported by steady contributions from other batters, ensured that Maharashtra controlled the game from the outset. Odisha’s bowlers struggled against the relentless batting, with Arpit Mohanty working tirelessly to return figures of 5 for 153 and Raaz Yadav picking up two wickets for 93.

Odisha’s reply fell short as they were bowled out for 200. Biswajeet Pradhan’s 48 off 109 balls and Swagat Sourav Mishra’s brisk 42 off 38 were the only significant efforts in an innings derailed by Maharashtra’s disciplined attack. Arqam Syed led the way with an excellent 5 for 41, while Abhinandan Adak supported him with 3 for 32, tightening Maharashtra’s grip on the match. With a commanding first-innings lead of 328 runs, Maharashtra enforced the follow-on.

The second innings unfolded even more disastrously for Odisha, who were dismissed for just 78 in 27.5 overs. Arpit Mohanty top-scored with 28, while Piyus Ranjan Mantri contributed 18, but no other batter could offer resistance. Maharashtra’s seamers, Samkit Surana and Harshil Sawant, tore through the batting order; Surana claimed 5 for 26 and Sawant finished with 4 for 34.
