Thiruvananthapuram: Delhi registered a comfortable eight-wicket win over Odisha in their Women’s Under-19 One Day Trophy Elite match at the KCA Cricket Ground, Mangalapuram, on Friday, chasing down a modest target with ease.
Opting to bat, Odisha struggled to build momentum and finished with 146 for 9 in 50 overs. The innings revolved around MS Priyadarshini Pramanik, who remained unbeaten on 30 off 71 balls, striking four boundaries. Angel Raj was the other notable contributor with 29 off 51 balls, including a four and a six.
Delhi’s bowlers kept things tight throughout. Disha Nagar was the standout performer, claiming four wickets for just 20 runs in her 10 overs, while Ragini provided good support with figures of 2 for 33 from 10 overs.
In reply, Delhi made light work of the chase, reaching 147 for 2 in just 28 overs. Nishika Singh anchored the innings with an unbeaten 49 off 79 balls, hitting seven fours. She was well supported by Nidhi Mahto, who scored a brisk 37 off 24 deliveries, studded with five boundaries and two sixes.
For Odisha, Chhita Soren and Ananya P Rout picked up a wicket each, conceding 24 and 27 runs respectively, but the total proved too small to defend.
