Nagpur: Gujarat registered a comfortable five-wicket win over Odisha in their Women’s Under-15 One Day Trophy (Elite C) match at the Lady Amritbai Daga College Ground, here on Tuesday.
After winning the toss, Odisha elected to bat but struggled against a disciplined Gujarat bowling attack and were bowled out for 79 runs in 24 overs.
Romi Pralipta Mallick top-scored for Odisha with 17 off 44 balls, while Anwesha Swain contributed 12 runs off 14 deliveries. Gujarat bowlers kept things tight, with Faina A Parikh delivering an impressive spell of four wickets for 25 runs in 7 overs. She received good support from Heer V Thakkar, who picked up two wickets for 8 runs from two overs.
In reply, Gujarat chased down the modest target, scoring 82 for 5 in 16.4 overs. Frenny A Chaudhari anchored the chase with an unbeaten 28 off 25 balls, hitting six boundaries. Nitya Brahmakshtriya added a quick 15 off 13 balls, helping Gujarat cross the line without much difficulty.
For Odisha, Anwesha Swain was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets for 14 runs in her three overs, while Chirashree Rout finished with 1 for 13 in 3.4 overs.
