Women’s U-23 One-day Trophy: Saurashtra beat Odisha by two wickets

Mumbai: In a close finish Odisha failed to defend the score of 167 as Saurashtra won by two wickets in Women’s U-23 One-day Trophy, being played at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana here on Saturday.

Put in to bat, Subhra Nirjharini Swain scored an unbeaten 54 off 84 balls while Kusum Tiriya chipped in with a 90-ball 40. T Dharani and Teesha picked three and two wickets respectively, as Saurashtra restricted Odisha to 167 for 9 in 50 overs.

The run-chase got tricky with Saurashtra losing wickets until Umeshwari Jethva dropped anchor to score 64 off 105 balls, well supported by Hirva V with 34 runs off 96 balls. Saurashtra reached the target in 48.1 overs at the loss of eight wickets.

For Odisha, Subhra was also among the wickets as she picked two scalps while Suryasnata Swain also picking two.
