Cuttack: The Odisha Cricket Association on Monday announced a 16-member senior men’s squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day tournament of the BCCI domestic season 2025–26. The squad for the first three matches was unveiled at a press meet held on Dece 15 by Sourajit Mohapatra, chairperson of the Odisha senior men’s selection committee.
The Odisha side features a blend of experience and youth, with seven players receiving their maiden call-ups. Shantanu Mishra and Swastik Samal have been named as opening batters, while Om T Munde has also been included in the top order. Dinesh Kumar Majhi and Aashirwad Swain will serve as wicketkeepers.
Allrounder Biplab Samantaray will lead the team, with Rajesh Mohanty appointed vice-captain. The squad also includes experienced campaigners such as Govinda Poddar and Sandeep Pattanaik, along with debutants Sambit Baral, Soumya R Lenka, Anil Parida, Badal Biswal and Sayed Tufayl Ahmad.
Odisha will open their Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign against Saurashtra on December 24 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The team will play all their group matches in Bengaluru, with fixtures scheduled across the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and the Alur Cricket Stadium venues.
