Vaishnaw reviews progress of Malkangiri-Bhadrachalam rail line project
Union Minister of Railways and Communication & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw during his visit to Malkanagiri on Friday discussed about Malkanagiri- Bhadrachalam rail line project with railway officials and public representatives.
173.416 km long Malkanagiri-Bhadrachalam rail line project has been sanctioned by Railway Board on 9 September, 2021 with an estimated cost of Rs 2800 crore. This project will have 213 bridges including 48 major and 165 Minor bridges.
The proposed project will have Stations at Malkanagiri, Badali, Kowasiguda, Rajanguda, Maharajpalli and Lunimanguda in Odisha and Kannapuram, Kutugutta, Pallu, Nandigama, Bhadrachalam and Pandurangapuram in Telengana.
Estimated cost for conducting survey (FLS) is 307.64 lakhs sanctioned in January, 2022. Contract awarded on 27 February, 2022 for Rs 231 lakh. After studying various aspect of this project, the alignment has been finalised. Moreover, it is expected that by June, 2022, the survey works will be completed.
