Uttarakhand U15 women beat Odisha by seven wickets

Kalamna: Uttarakhand Under-15 women registered a comfortable seven-wicket win over Odisha in the Women’s Under-15 One Day Trophy (Elite C) match at the VCA ground, here on Sunday.

After winning the toss, Uttarakhand opted to field and produced a disciplined bowling effort to bundle out Odisha for 102 in 32.5 overs.

Odisha’s innings was anchored by Priyanshi Maharana, who top-scored with 30 off 51 balls, hitting five boundaries. Anwesha Swain added 24 from 57 deliveries, but the rest of the batting line-up struggled to build partnerships.

For Uttarakhand, Shiksha Koli and Maitreyi were the standout bowlers. Shiksha Koli picked up three wickets for 17 runs in 6.5 overs, while Maitreyi claimed three for 15 in her six overs.

In reply, Uttarakhand chased down the modest target with ease, reaching 103 for 3 in 28 overs.

Kavleen played a steady unbeaten knock of 45 off 87 balls, hitting six fours, while Prasthi Dhanraj supported her well with 35 off 55 balls, including five boundaries. The pair ensured there were no late hiccups in the chase.

For Odisha, Jagyansene Sahoo was the most effective bowler, returning figures of 2 for 23 in five overs. Ananya P Jena chipped in with one wicket for 12 runs from three overs.
