Bhubaneswar: Utkal University recently observed “Kranti Teertha” on the theme: “The role of unsung heroes, organisations and places in freedom movement” to commemorate 75 glorious years of Independence in collaboration with Institute of Social and Culture Studies and Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
“Kranti Teertha” is an attempt to recall and remember forgotten heroes in India’s freedom struggle.
On this occasion, vice-chancellor Prof Sabita Acharya joined as chief guest and spoke about the heroism of the freedom fighters of Odisha. Dash Benhur, popular writer and columnist and Prof Somarani Chand, former professor of History were the other keynote speakers.
The programme was moderated by Prof Mitali Chinara, director Students Welfare and coordinated by the DSW team.
