Cuttack: A delegation of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), led by mission director Veena Reddy, a senior foreign diplomat of the US government, visited the Septage Treatment Plant (SeTP) at Cuttack on Thursday. The plant is the first-ever Urban Local Body (ULB) in the state, to engage transgender SHG.
The team highly appreciated the efforts of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) for empowering the transgenders through the provision of livelihood opportunities as well as the decentralised, sustainable, community-led livelihood model in sanitation.
The delegation from USAID was greeted by Cuttack mayor Subhash Singh along with deputy mayor, deputy commissioner, officials of WASH, Odisha Water Academy, OWSSB and CMC.
