Getting into IIMs is the dream of every MBA aspirant. However, with the growing number of MBA aspirants, cracking the CAT exam is not easy. Despite rigorous practice and making several attempts, many fail to clear the entrance test.

Does this mean it is the end of your dreams? No, not at all. IIMs are the best place to do the professional course from, but there are other colleges that offer MBA courses at par with the IIMs. If you missed an opportunity of getting into an IIM, fret not. There are a sea of options at your disposal.

Let’s take a look at some of the top colleges offering MBA courses in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

KIIT School of Management

KSOM or KIIT School of Management, situated in Bhubaneswar is one of the oldest privately owned top management colleges. Established in the year 1993 as the Institute of Business Administration and Training, the department of management was founded later on with the name KIIT School of Management.

KSOM is deemed to be a university, being one of the very few private colleges in India to receive the ‘Institution of Eminence’ tag from the MHRD, UGC and the Government of India.

The business school holds the 32nd position in the recent NIRF rankings. The business school recently received the Life Membership award from the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). The college offers five streams within the MBA course – General, Health Care Management, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics and it considers KIITEE, CAT, MAT and XAT scores for admission.

Dhaneswar Rath Institute Of Engineering And Management Studies

The Dhaneswar Rath Institute Of Engineering And Management Studies, also known as DRIEMS, was established by the DRIEMS Group of Institutions in the year 2004. Situated in Cuttack, the institute offers only a PG course in MBA with specialisations in four streams – Marketing, Finance, Operations and Human Resource.

The admission to the course is entrance based and the candidate is selected through an online OJEE counseling process. However, the college also accepts CAT, XAT, CMAT and other scores as well. Candidates seeking admission to this institute can apply both online as well as offline.

Xavier University

XUB or Xavier University is the country’s top-rated business schools, ranked 4th in the list of top 50 business schools. Established in the year 2013, the school offers courses in the discipline of Management, Commerce, Human Resource management, Rural Management, Communications, and many more. The college accepts CAT, XAT, GMAT and NMAT scores for admission.

International Management Institute

Established in the year 2011 in Bhubaneshwar, the institute is India’s first corporate sponsored business school. Securing 63rd position in the NIRF rankings, the institute is a member of (IMI) Bhubaneswar, and is a young institute located in European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), AMDISA and AIU. The institute accepts CAT, XAT, CMAT and GMAT scores for admission to post graduate diploma in management.

The various streams offered under this course are Decision Sciences, Strategy Area, Finance, Analytics and Information systems, Human Resource Management and Marketing.

Sri Sri University

SSU or Sri Sri University is a private university established in the year 2009. It is located in Bhubaneshwar, and the university is best known for its excellent department of MBA.

It offers both UG and PG courses and considers CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA and CMAT scores for admission. The various specialisations offered within the MBA course are Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, Finance, Good Business, Agribusiness and Marketing.
