Tension in Lucknow after two communities clash
Lucknow: Tension prevailed between two communities in the Rajendra Nagar area of Lucknow, following a clash that resulted in stone-pelting, according to the police.
Five individuals from both parties were detained by the Lucknow police in response to the incident, and adequate security forces were deployed to maintain control.
The groups involved were reportedly from the Hindu and Muslim communities, with videos of the clash circulating widely on social media.
According to the official statement from the Lucknow police, the stone-pelting incident occurred around 9:45 pm in Rajendra Nagar. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the scene.
The statement added: “It was found that one person identified as Safiq was sitting outside on the road, and another person identified as Akash and his friends, who were inebriated, initiated a conversation about their previous altercation on the day of Holi. Akash mentioned that Safiq had gone crazy, causing both sides to gather and start pelting stones.”
