Kurukshetra: A 19-year-old student from Telangana was found dead in his hostel room at the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra in Haryana on Monday, police said.
Shiva hailed from Maheshwari village in Telangana’s Rangareddy district and had recently joined the institute as a first-semester Computer Science and Engineering student. He was living in the hostel along with two roommates.
According to officials, Shiva was alone in the room at the time of the incident, as his roommates had stepped out for lunch. Earlier that day, he had attended his classes at around 10 am and later returned to the hostel, while the others left the room.
Police said no suicide note was recovered from the spot. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
