Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has launched Swachhta Pakhwada (cleanliness fortnight), a nationwide initiative from September 16 to October 2.
ECoR general manager Manoj Sharma administered the Swachhata oath to employees. While the divisional railway managers at Waltair, Khurda Road and Sambalpur extended the pledge at their respective divisions.

Swachhta Pakhwada emphasises cleanliness across its railway stations, trains, offices, workshops, maintenance depots, railway hospitals and residential areas. The campaign also includes awareness about cleanness among passengers and stakeholders.
During this campaign special attention will also be given to the cleanliness of water installation, toilets and surrounding areas. It also focuses on cleanliness drives, anti-littering awareness programme, onboard cleanliness initiatives and the maintenance of railway facilities.
