Bhubaneswar: Sixty one units of blood were collected at a camp organised by the SUM Ultimate Medicare in collaboration with the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital here on Thursday with staff members of the hospital stepping forward to donate blood.
Doctors, PG students, technicians, nurses, counselors and other staff of the Post Graduate Department of Transfusion Medicine of IMS and SUM Hospital conducted the three-hour long ‘Bonded by Blood’ drive.
Among the donors were Dr. Swetapadma Dash, chief executive officer of the hospital, Brig. (Dr.) Biraj Mohan Mishra, chief of Medical Services, Dr. Anand Mishra, deputy medical superintendent, Dr. Chira Ranjan Khadanga, consultant Radiation Oncology, Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Khuntia, emergency physician, Dr. Bhabani Shankar Nayak, in-charge of department of Prosthesis and Orthotics, Dr. Priyabrata Swain of department of physiotherapy, other doctors, nurses, para medics and security personnel.
Dr. Girija Nandini Kanungo, head of the PG Department of Transfusion Medicine, supervised the camp.
