Subhrakanta shines in BBSR-A win in U-19 inter-district tournament

Cuttack: Subhrakanta Parida took a five-wicket haul as BBSR-A thumped Jagatsinghpur by 10 wickets in a Group A match of OCA U-19 men’s inter-district cricket tournament on Saturday.

Opting to bat at the Nimpur Ground here, Jagatsinghpur were bowled out for 62 in 26.1 overs, with BBSR-A’s Parida returning impressive spell of five for eight. BBSR-A gunned down the target in 7.1 overs without losing a wicket.

In another one-day match played at Bidanasi Ground, Angul beat Jharsuguda by seven runs. Opting to bat, Angul scored 243 for 6 in 47 overs with Panakala Mokshit (59) and Rohit Pradhan (42) shining with the bat. For Jharsuguda, Nirab Agrawal and Mohammad Hussain picked two wickets each.

Jharsuguda had the run-chase under control but fell short by seven runs after being bowled out for 236 in 43.1 overs. Karan Soni scored 55 and Nirab chipped (45) in with the bat too. Ayushman Mukhi and Soumya Singh picked three and two wickets respectively.
