Bhubaneswar: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here and Jadavpur University (JU), Kolkata, on Friday for jointly pursuing academics and research in various contemporary subjects of pharmaceutical sciences and translational medicine.
The partnership between the two universities would make it easier for faculties and students to engage in academic and research activities in several areas involving pharmaceutical sciences including clinical research, molecular pharmacology, drug discovery, herbal nanotechnology, translational medicine research and formulation development.

The MoU was signed by SOA’s Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan and JU’s Prof. Pallab Kanti Haldar.
Prof. Pradhan said the partnership between SOA and Jadavpur University was not an option but a need in light of the technical improvements happening in the pharmaceutical industry. “This MoU will spawn numerous new collaborative efforts and synergies in pharmaceutical technology,” he said.
Prof. Goutam Rath, Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SOA’s faculty of pharmaceutical sciences, Prof. Goutam Ghosh of Department of Pharmacognosy, Prof. Biswakanth Kar of Department of Pharmacology and Dr. Rajesh Lenka, Deputy Medical Superintendent of Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, SOA’s faculty of medical sciences, were present during the signing of the MoU.
