A week-long road safety awareness being launched by SOA.
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to sensitise its students and employees about road safety, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) here launched a week-long programme to create awareness on the campus of Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the Deemed to be University’s faculty of engineering and technology.
Senior officials of the university, led by the chancellor Prof. DP Ray, presented yellow roses to the students for not wearing helmet or not using seat belt while red roses were given to those obeying the safety rules.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ray stressed the importance for upholding traffic rules to avoid road mishaps.
Prof. Pradip Kumar Sahu, dean, ITER, Jugal Kishore Das, SOA’s director (Resources) and chief vigilance officer and Sanjay Kumar Sahu, director, Legal Affairs, among others, were present. Siddhartha Das, assistant manager, conducted the programme.
