Bhubaneswar: A Digital Hut, a fully equipped digital branch of the Punjab National Bank, was inaugurated on the campus of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) here on Wednesday.

The digital branch, which would provide clients with an interactive digital banking experience, was inaugurated by SOA founder president Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak.

The digital hut is equipped with smart digital technologies which simplifies banking transactions using interactive touch screens, self-service kiosks and fully functional automated teller machines (ATMs). Five machines have been installed in the hut which would remain operational round-the-clock.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Nayak congratulated PNB for extending such service to the people saying it would greatly benefit students of the university.

PNB’s Zonal Manager Sanjeev Bharadwaj said the bank was introducing such service in Odisha for the first time. It would be an on-line service and such digital huts would be set up at Sambalpur and other zones subsequently.

Providing information about the service, PNB’s circle head Paresh Das said two employees would be stationed at the new facility to assist customers. Soumitri Pati, senior Manager of Pokhariput branch of PNB, said an amount up to Rs 40 lakh can be deposited in an account at the digital hut.
