In Josh Hazlewood’s absence, Mohammed Siraj has done incredibly well to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore’s attack
“He is bowling as well as I have ever seen. Running in with the new ball he shows that intent and the confidence,” Virat Kohli told the broadcaster after RCB’s seven-run win against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
“He has the Purple Cap and for good reason. He’s leading the attack and hopefully Josh (Hazlewood) comes in next game,” he added.

Siraj who finished with figures of 1 for 39 and most importantly taking out the dangerous Jos Buttler for a duck, gave RCB advantage to defend 189.
“I accept any challenge. My role is going well with the new ball and the ball is coming out of the hand nicely. I’m very happy with the responsibility of leading the attack,” Siraj said.
Harshal Patel has been an important player for RCB over the years, and he proved that in Sunday’s game by bowling the last over. “He always bowls the tough overs, not easy at Chinnaswamy. He’s closed out games against DC and today as well. So massive credit to the way he has performed. We trust him to deliver at the death,” Kohli said.
