Gwalior: Karnataka held their nerves in a tense chase to secure a three-wicket victory over Odisha in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2025–26 encounter at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Gwalior on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Odisha posted 115 for 4 in their 20 overs. Captain Sushree Dibyadarshini anchored the innings with a composed 46 off 44 deliveries, while Sarita Meher contributed a steady 34 from 40 balls.
Despite a solid platform, Odisha struggled to accelerate in the closing overs, with Karnataka’s disciplined bowling keeping them in check. Rajeswari was the standout bowler for Karnataka, returning figures of 1 for 21 from her four overs, while BG Tejashwini claimed one wicket for 30 runs.
In reply, Karnataka’s chase was built around K Prathyooha’s fluent 37 off 23 balls and Niki Prasad’s steady 32 from 34 deliveries. Odisha’s bowlers, led by Subhra Nirjharini Swain (1 for 12) and Sangeeta Khadia (1 for 31), struck at regular intervals to keep the game alive till the final over. However, Karnataka’s lower order held firm to guide the team to 118 for 7 in 19.4 overs.
