Rajkot: A superb century by Sampada Dixit guided Uttar Pradesh to a five-wicket victory over Odisha in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy 2025-26 (Elite) at the Saurasara Cricket Ground ‘B’, here on Tuesday.
Chasing 244 for victory, Uttar Pradesh reached 245 for 5 in 40.5 overs to seal the contest with nine overs to spare.
Sampada anchored the innings with a composed 106 off 117 balls, hitting 12 boundaries. She held the chase together after early exchanges and ensured UP remained on course. Varnika provided the perfect support, playing an aggressive knock of 67 from just 54 deliveries, hammering 12 fours and a six at a strike rate of 124.07 to shift the momentum decisively in UP’s favour.
For Odisha, Jyoti K Prasad was the most effective with the ball, returning figures of 2 for 36 in her eight overs at an economy of 4.5. Sushree Dibyadarshini claimed 1 for 48 from her nine overs.
Earlier, Odisha, after winning the toss and opting to bat, posted 243 for 6 in 41 overs.
Madhuri Meheta top-scored with a steady 68 off 87 balls, studded with seven fours. Sushree Dibyadarshini played a brisk innings of 63 from 55 deliveries, smashing eight boundaries at a strike rate of 114.55 to accelerate the scoring.
For Uttar Pradesh, Anjali Singh picked up 2 for 30 in her six overs, maintaining an economy rate of 5. Khushi Tyagi bowled a tight spell, finishing with 1 for 39 in nine overs at 4.33 per over.
