Seminar on skill development for non-teaching staff held at Utkal University

Utkal University vice-chancellor Prof Sabita Acharya speaks at the seminar.

Bhubaneswar: A seminar on skill development for non-teaching staff, working in different public universities of the state, was held at Utkal University recently.

This is one of the unique initiatives organised by the non-teaching employees of Utkal University with the patronage of Prof Sabita Acharya, vice-chancellor of Utkal University.

Prof Acharya, delivered the introductory speech by addressing the importance of skills in life, she urged that everyone has inborn skill and talent within; but we need to explore it. She also encouraged all the participants and thanked the organisers.

Dr. Avaya Kumar Nayak, registrar spoke about the enhanced student focused administrative skills by utilising the rules and regulations in a positive attitude. “We all should accept change in life. Technology is now the challenge for us to adopt it,” he said.

Goutam Pradhan, comptroller of finance focused on financial problems, process and procedures to solve it. He stressed on the weekly cash book maintenance, preparation of realistic budget, procurement procedures with following basic rules and regulations.
While, Prof Nigamananda Das, director College Development Council spoke about the role of non-teaching employees in meeting different accreditation standards are very important to achieve development and success.

Apart from the above dignitaries BN Ray, vice-president, AIUEC, RK Samantaray, president, AOUFF, all non-teaching staff of Utkal University and more than 250 non-teaching employees from different universities of Odisha participated in the seminar. Ajay Kumar Rath, convener coordinated the seminar and gave the vote of thanks.
