Bhubaneswar: With the approval of Union Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Sambalpur-Shalimar-Sambalpur Tri-weekly Express has been renamed as Mahima Gosain Express.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during the foundation laying ceremony of redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Railway station on December 29, 2022 had urged Vaishnaw to rename the Sambalpur-Shalimar-Sambalpur Tri-weekly Express as Mahima Gosain Express.
Keeping in view the sentiments and faith of the people towards the Mahima shrine, Ministry of Railways has renamed the train.
