Kanpur: The Ranji Trophy match between Uttar Pradesh and Odisha ended in a draw on Wednesday at Green Park Stadium here on Wednesday, with Uttar Pradesh taking the first-innings lead.
After Odisha opted to bat first, they were bowled out for 243 in 77.1 overs. Govinda Poddar (64), Sambit S Baral (59*) and Sandeep Pattanaik (53) were the key contributors. For Uttar Pradesh, Shivam Sharma picked up 3 for 65, while Shivam Mavi and Prashant Veer claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Uttar Pradesh posted a commanding 409 for 6 declared, built around a solid 121 off 276 balls by skipper Karan Sharma and 101 from Aaradhya Yadav. Among Odisha bowlers, Sambit S Baral (3/52) and Badal Biswal (1/91) were among the wickets.
Trailing by 166 runs, Odisha reached 151 for 3 in their second innings when the match ended in a draw. Swastik Samal top-scored with an unbeaten 71 off 113 balls, while Govinda Poddar made 38.
For Uttar Pradesh, Shivam Mavi (2/32) and Kunal Tyagi (1/45) took the wickets in the second innings.
With the match drawn, Uttar Pradesh claimed valuable points because of their lead in the first innings.
