Bikash Swarup Pati, a former Odisha Ranji Trophy cricketer and current men’s senior selection committee member has successfully qualified
as a BCCI match referee.
The BCCI had conducted the match referee course and exam on Sept 5 and Sept 6 at Bengaluru for identifying suitable candidates for induction into the panel of BCCI match referees. 14 have passed the exam and will be inducted into the panel of BCCI match referees.
Pati secured 8th rank with scoring 80.5 marks in the exam.
Pati, a former opening batsman has represented the State in 35 first- class, 15 List-A and 21 T20 matches for Odisha.
Pati will be the fifth match referee from Odisha who joins the elite list of Late Prasant Mohapatra, Sanjay Raul, P Jayachandra and Shiv Sundar Das (who gave up the match referee position to pursue a coaching career).
