‘One Station, One Product’ outlets open at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack railway stations

Under the “One Station, One Product” Scheme, Khurda Road division has launched two stalls at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack railway stations, involving local Self Help Groups, in collaboration with Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS).

The scheme was launched with an objective to provide enhanced livelihood and welfare of local artisans, potters, weavers, tribals and others. Under this scheme, stalls are being provided at railway stations to the local artisans to showcase and sell famous local products, pertaining to that particular area. The purpose of the scheme is also to make the railway stations a promotional hub and showcase destination for the local products, thereby giving a major boost to local industries.

Now the passengers can get the Khurdha’s famous ‘bell metal products’ at the Bhubaneswar railway station, similarly Cuttack’s famous ‘silver filigree’ products will be available at Cuttack railway station.

Previously, Khurda Road division had launched one stall at Puri railway station to promote Odisha’s famous ‘Pattachitra’ and ‘Pipili Applique’ under the “One Station, One Product” scheme. The division has also issued notification, inviting applications for stalls at 78 railway stations over the Khurda Road division.

Rinkesh Roy, the Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road urged the passengers to take the advantage of the stalls and requested local artisans, potters, weavers, tribals to come forward to apply for these stalls.
