Odisha State Athletics Meet: Sabita Toppo creates new record in hurdles

Sabita Toppo clocked 14.8 sec in 100 mtr hurdles.

The 68th Odisha State Athletics Meet 2022 saw seven new meet records being made in the last three days, and one being a state record.

On the penultimate day of the event, one new record was created by Sabita Toppo of Bhubaneswar in Girls-18 100 mtr hurdles, by clocking 14.8 sec. The old record was 15.1 sec.

Earlier, Ashok Dandsena of Odisha Police created a new state record in 5000 mtr by clocking a time of 14min:49.4sec. The old record was 15min:05.2 sec in the name of TK Tirkey, which was created in the year 1980.

A new meet record was created by Omkar Prasad Nanda (boys U-16) in shot put event with a throw of 16.94 mtr. The old record was 14.16 mtr.

The state athletics meet is being held from April 8 to April 11 at KIIT and KISS Athletics stadium in Bhubaneswar.
